Expecting parents card

Happy Tuesday everyone! I just finished a not-so-typical pregnancy card. In fact, this one is for the expecting parents to give to someone to announce they're pregnancy.

I just got some new stamps and dies in the mail from Lawn Fawn and they are just too stinkin' cute for words. I wanted to use them in a less than traditional way.

So I challenged myself and this is what I came up with.

 Aren't they adorbs???!!! I love these little dinosaurs.

I experimented with trying to use my Stampin Up! ink and sponges to distress a sunset into the background. So I stamped my trees and some rocks (which just barely ended up being covered up) onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Then I colored the trees and rocks with my Copic markers, stamped the outline of the trees onto some Eclipse masking tape, cut them out and covered them.

Taking my sponges and yellow, orange, and blue ink I began distressing the background. 

When I was satisfied I peeled off the mask and added the layers of Bazzill Gumdrop cardstock for grassy hills and then placed my dinos where I wanted them. 

The "Guess What?" sentiment actually came from a Tiddly Inks stamp set and the inside sentiment I pieced together using another Lawn Fawn stamp set.

And here is the inside. I just love this little dino popping out of its shell!

Like I said, definitely not your typical expecting card, which is probably why I like it so much hehehe.

Valentine card 6

Hey everyone, sorry for my two week hiatus. We are about to move so I've been busy getting all of that in order. I thought I would make a quick post today for Valentine card 6. Today is going to be a fun day over here, I'm taking the hubs to Ikea for the first time. He's never been so I'm looking forward to corrupting him :D

Alright before I get too carried away in my excitement over this move, here is card 6! This card was inspired by a card I had seen on Pinterest, not sure of the actual source or creator to give credit, but this is my take on it...

This card is actually going to be my little sisters birthday card, since her birthday falls just after Valentine's Day. She will be 16! She's very much in love with vampires and the like so I just know she will love this card. She has kept every card I've ever sent her and has them displayed around her room, I'm sure she and her friends will get a kick out of this one.

Well that is the card for today, sorry this post isn't longer, but it's about time I start getting myself and the girls ready. They get to go to Grandma's house today while we go to Ikea.

Paper Smooches Challenge/Valentine card 5

Well I thought I would participate in yet another challenge. This time I am entering the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge which you can find and enter here. The theme for this challenge is "Anything goes", there are a few rules/guidelines so be sure to follow them and one winner will be chosen by them and that winner will receive a $30 to the Paper Smooches store. This card is will also act as Valentine card number 5! I'd say I'm ahead of schedule now lol.

 

 How stinkin' cute are these little cows?! I drew a little bow on the "female" cow and added "lipstick" kisses to the other. I just thought it was too adorable.

If you haven't used paper smooches stamps before I definitely recommend them. I plan to add several more of their stamp sets to my collection, esp now that they've come out with coordinating dies to match. Stamps with matching dies just make my life sooo much easier hahaha.
