Need a Lift?

Hello everyone! Today I have a super adorable elephant card to share with you.
I just love, Love, LOVE this little elephant stamp from Lawn Fawn.
Elephants are, after all, my favorite!
This was a very tedious card to make I will admit.
I thought I had a cluster of balloons as a stamp,
but apparently I only had a single balloon.
Was that going to stop me? Absolutely not!
So I stamped one balloon at a time, cutting and masking off each individual balloon as I filled up the balloon cluster until I was satisfied.
Then I stamped and masked the elephant just below that.
With all of the balloons already masked,
I cut some cloud masks and placed those down.
Using my new Ranger blending tool and some Tim Holtz distress ink I smudged a sky.
Then came the fun part...unmasking the tape to reveal the clean stamping under neath.
I colored pretty minimally just using 2 colors for shadowing on the balloons then I added strings to the balloons and around the elephant using my Copic multiliner.
And of course it needed some sparkle so I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to all of my balloons.
Took out my Anya Lifts stamp from The Greeting Farm for the "Need a Lift?" sentiment and placed it onto my Simon Says Stamp banner die cut. Dimensionals gave the perfect lift (hehe see what I did there) for my banner when I attached it to the card.
The tails of the banner flush against the card I secured using a little Tombow.
Now for the inside of my card I stamped the other sentiment from the Anya Lifts stamp set as well as a couple more balloons.
Colored them in with my copics and added glitter to them as well.
And there you have it! A super sweet, super adorable card sure to brighten anyones day!
I will also be entering this card into this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.  This weeks theme is Anything Goes! so hop on over and play along.
The randomly chosen winner will receive a $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store! Is it sad that I already know what I would use that for? hehehe

Birthday card using Lawn Fawn stamps

Hello everyone and happy hump day!  I have an adorable card to share with you today.
I finally messed around with some of my older stamp sets and stumbled
upon my Simon Says Stamp Happy Every Day stamp set.
It has this great solid stripe in it that I wanted to use to create my own rainbow pattern paper with.
So that's where my first idea was born.
I went through all of my ink and ended up choosing all Stampin' Up! ink for the stripes.

Here is a list of the colors I used:
Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight,
Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Perfect Plum
I cut my flag shape first from Neenah Solar White cardstock, then stamped my stripes across.
Using the MFT Pierced Circle Dies I cut a circle from the center.
Then I used my 1/8" hole punch to punch out two holes for my thread to eventually go through.
Then came the struggle of deciding on an image to use with my newly made rainbow paper.
Once I saw this Lawn Fawn dino staring up at me from the pile I knew he was the one!
As cliche and silly as that sounds it was soooo true.
I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored him with my Copics.
And because I couldn't leave well enough alone I added some bling
with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to his rainbow
scales as well as every other stripe on the
rainbow pattern paper.

Rummaging through my stash of paper I chose Bazzill wax lips cardstock for my card base.
I had some scrap black recollections cardstock I needed to use up so I used that
to mat my flag pattern paper onto, leaving myself a small red border.
At the last minute I chose to emboss the sentiment using green and purple that I got in the clearance bin at Michaels (sorry I can't link to those)

Then for the inside of the card, I certainly couldn't waste that rainbow die cut circle so I stamped my sentiment on that using VersFine Onyx black ink.
The sentiment also came from the SSS Happy Every Day set that I used the stripe from earlier.
Stamped some little dino tracks using MFT Kraft Hybrid Ink across the bottom of inside of the card.
And there you have it! An adorable dino birthday card that could be given to anyone!
Hope you all enjoyed this card and I'll catch you back here next time.
I'll be entering this card into the new Simon Wednesday Challenge:Anything Goes!

CMCC#21...Colour Me...Subtle

Hello everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend. I have been enjoying the extra crafting time I've been finding this weekend!
I stumbled upon a new challenge blog...a color challenge blog which is fantastic!
You can check out there blog here
Here is the color inspiration for challenge number 21...
Isn't it beautiful?! I love this color combo, in fact I immediately broke out my new Art Impressions Deco Set to use for this challenge.
This was my first time using the DIY decoupage sets from Art Impressions and I have to say I rather enjoy them. They're a great way to test out the images before buying the stamps. Plus they are just adorable. These ladies always make me smile.
Kept this card pretty simple, just popped up with dimensionals added some bakers twine and Wink of Stella glitter and done!
Thats all for today, I think Simple is going to be my theme for the day....Simple Sunday sounds nice!
Order pizza and craft some more....yup, works for me!
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Expecting parents card

Happy Tuesday everyone! I just finished a not-so-typical pregnancy card. In fact, this one is for the expecting parents to give to someone to announce they're pregnancy.
I just got some new stamps and dies in the mail from Lawn Fawn and they are just too stinkin' cute for words. I wanted to use them in a less than traditional way.
So I challenged myself and this is what I came up with.
Aren't they adorbs???!!! I love these little dinosaurs.
I experimented with trying to use my Stampin Up! ink and sponges to distress a sunset into the background. So I stamped my trees and some rocks (which just barely ended up being covered up) onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Then I colored the trees and rocks with my Copic markers, stamped the outline of the trees onto some Eclipse masking tape, cut them out and covered them.
Taking my sponges and yellow, orange, and blue ink I began distressing the background.
When I was satisfied I peeled off the mask and added the layers of Bazzill Gumdrop cardstock for grassy hills and then placed my dinos where I wanted them.
The "Guess What?" sentiment actually came from a Tiddly Inks stamp set and the inside sentiment I pieced together using another Lawn Fawn stamp set.

And here is the inside. I just love this little dino popping out of its shell!
Like I said, definitely not your typical expecting card, which is probably why I like it so much hehehe.
Well that's all I have for you tonight, hope you enjoyed and I'll catch you back here next time.

Super Simple Sunday

Hello everyone!
Today I want to show you a card I made using one of my newest Art Impressions Girlfriends stamp!
This is the Art Impressions Girlfriend Blend stamp and I just love it!
My Nana is always wanting cards from me to give to her girlfriends and these are just perfect for them. She told me whenever I send her a new box of cards she puts them out on the table at brunch and the ladies practically fight over them on the table :)
The girlfriends sets always seem to be their favorite.

So here is the card. I kept it super simple, focusing mainly on my Copic coloring and the sharp angles. I've been trying to steer away from my normal straight lines/layers.
I even forced myself to try different skin tone combinations on this card and I have to say I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
Well I'll keep this short and sweet today. I hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you next time!

Back in the saddle again!

Hey everybody! I know it's been a while since my last post, but now that we are completely moved into the new house I am happy to say that I am BACK!  Couldn't be more perfect timing too! Craft room is all set up, new products have been arriving for me to play with, and Paper Smooches is hosting an "audition" to be their June guest designer. I put in a few of my cards and then also added this new one. This card was actually featured on their facebook page today, which I am super stoked about! So without further adieu here it is....
I was able to use some of my new Paper Smooches stamps (here) and dies (here) and it was just too much fun!
The deadline to submit entries to be considered for the possible guest designer is May 21st. I am hoping to submit a few more as well with my other new set that came in the mail so stay tuned for that post coming soon.

I am so happy to be back in the crafty swing of things!
